Women’s Equality Day marks the day the 19th Amendment was certified, expanding voting rights for women in the United States. It was not the finish line: more than a century later, women are still underrepresented in the rooms where decisions are made, from executive leadership to boardrooms to public life.
At Leadership Women, we believe equality requires more than opening the door. It means preparing women to walk through it, lead once they’re there, and hold the door open for those coming next. Today, we honor the women who pushed us forward, and the women still doing the work.
