Last weekend reminded us why this community is so special. NBLT members gathered for the 2026 Member Picnic at Vosburg Neck State Park. Together with baskets, blankets, and big smiles, we celebrated the landscapes we all care about and the mission that brings us together.
A big you to our friends Nick Sultzer and Amanda Kiernan of Vosburg Neck State Park, for spending the day with us and providing our members with insight on the history of this special landscape.

Although male Scarlet Tanagers are striking in appearance, they often go unseen! Known as a rare sight for birdwatchers, Tanagers prefer high, dense foliage, upper canopies and unfragmented tracts of forest, building their nests as tall as 50 feet in a tree.
By conserving land, we ensure species that rely on mature forests, like the Scarlet Tanager, have the appropriate food sources and nesting sites needed to thrive.
