The Welsh Cultural Endeavor of Northeastern Pennsylvania Why the Welsh Culture is basically ignored...when even the name Welsh is a lie? The untold story starts here from antiquity.

High German "Walische" for land of strangers, the added woe of Celt nonsense, non-Roman conquest and pagan-barbarian inventions.

MORE THAN JUST ST. DAVID...
.. came other more revered and prominent Welsh saints of the 6th century. Dafydd, a patron embellishment of the church in Wales a century or two ago was actually minor in recognition in comparison with contemporaries Illtyd, Teilo, and Oudoceus whom the church turned their back on. They are more accomplished and written about in the ancient record. More churches of Illyd can be found throughout south Wales than perhaps most and he established a Christian college in the area of Llantwit Major (really Church of Illtyd - Llan Illtyd). Overlooked also was the prominence of King / St. Tewdrig who valiantly fought the Saxon army at the banks of the Wye, near the ford of Tintern and was thus mortally wounded. It was Tewdrig's son King Meurig who actually authorized Dafydd to rebuild the church at Pembrokeshire as Dafydd needed the kings approval.

Depicted here on the window at Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff, are King Arthur II (left), King / St. Tewdrig (center), the grandfather of King Arthur II, and King Cadwaladr (right).
