The Youth Power Fellowship is a virtual leadership development training series where you will have the opportunity to understand and develop your own theory of change, apply that theory to strategic planning, and then put that strategy into ACTION.

During YPF, you will receive the knowledge, tools, and resources to not only launch your own actions and campaigns in your community but also at the Texas State Capitol. At the end of your fellowship, you will receive a stipend to carry out an action in collaboration with experienced Planned Parenthood team members to help stop anti-reproductive health attacks during the 2021 Texas legislative session

This will take place between February 9-20 and will consist of 12 hours of training. You must complete at least 10 hours to be eligible to receive the stipend. Most of the trainings are in the evening (5:30 pm-7:30 pm CT) and on a Saturday (11:00 am-1:00 pm CT). We hope you check out this amazing opportunity! Email [email protected] to sign up! Applications are due January 15th!

Every year, SMU’s Feminist Equality Movement hosts Take Back the Night, a program comprising a campus rally against sexual violence, a candlelight vigil honoring victims and survivors, and a survivor speak-out. In light of COVID-19, this semester we will be hosting a modified version of TBTN. In addition to a showing of the documentary "The Hunting Ground," FEM created a display featuring the testimonies of survivors here on Dallas Hall Lawn. You can go check it out November 18th-20th!

FRIDAY November 20th at 7 PM, FEM will be showing the documentary, “The Hunting Ground.” We will have Tiff’s Treats along with other snacks and drinks!
â€ș â€ș â€ș â€ș
The Hunting Ground is a 2015 documentary film about the incidence of sexual assault on college campuses in the United States and the reported failure of college administrations to deal with it adequately. The documentary focuses on Annie E. Clark and Andrea Pino, two former University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill students who filed a Title IX complaint against UNC in response to their rapes while enrolled. The use of Title IX in campus sexual assault cases became a model for universities across the country.
