Foster care and adoption - Buckner provides the training and resources needed to become a family to a child for a season through foster care or a forever family through domestic foster care or adoption. Children in these programs are most often referred through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to experiencing abuse, neglect or abandonment. We also respond to mothers experiencing an unplanned pregnancy with counseling and support. Dallas office - 855-264-8783

Some of you go to church. And some of you like talking. Some of you are never called on to pray before a meal because those two things mean no one gets to eat before it’s cold. That’s ok. We have a job for you. Host a booth for National Adoption Month and talk to people all day long.

For every one child raised by relatives in foster care, roughly 19 children are raised by kin outside the foster care system. This means they don’t have access to monthly stipends, free resources, a community of partners, counseling, support groups, and more. At Buckner we go above and beyond to help our kinship families, so we can ensure children thrive. If you are in a situation where you are raising a grandchild, niece, or someone else in the family, let Buckner help.

Every parent holds a vision for the future of their family. That vision is not about fixing what is broken, but about strengthening what is already present — the determination to create opportunities that last beyond the present moment. Education is one of the ways families turn that hope into something solid. It offers more than a job today; it opens doors that remain open over time. At Buckner, this understanding shapes how Buckner Family Pathways® is designed and how families are supported as they work toward independence.

Kinship care allows children to be placed with relatives after being removed from the home. Kinship care is always the first choice because it is proven that kids have better success rates when they are with people they know. Kinship care also allows foster parents to receive financial help, resources, community, and more so that they can care for the children. So often families walk this road alone. Buckner wants to help empower you so children can remain with their relatives and begin to thrive in a stable, loving environment.
