Congratulations to our September Volunteer of the Month -- Anna Kate Carter!

Anna Kate joined the McKenna Farms volunteer family in late July and quickly jumped right in, serving as both a horse leader and side-walker. Whether she’s grooming and tacking up one of our horses or walking alongside a rider during a lesson, Anna Kate brings enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine love for what happens here at the Farm.

When asked why she chose to volunteer at McKenna, Anna Kate shared that her love of horses and being outdoors initially drew her here—but the people are what make it special. She loves spending time with our horses and watching our riders grow in confidence and accomplish new things. “It’s a fun environment and there’s never a dull moment. It’s also amazing to watch the riders there grow in confidence and excel.”

And, of course, we had to ask about her favorite horses! Anna Kate chose Gizmo and Chevy. She loves Gizmo’s sweet, calm personality (and says he has the best mane ever!) and describes Chevy as a total “cuddle bug” with the best ground manners.
