RBCA Texas

RBCA Texas Increasing the number of successful African and minority businesses by helping them gain access to procurement opportunities and capital is an ongoing process.

The Regional Black Contractors Association's mission is to advocate for and advance the development and growth of African-American owned businesses and their capacity. This contributes to and participates in the self-determination, economic growth and prosperity of African-American communities in the North Texas Region, thereby creating a strong economic base that develops, empowers and supports the ongoing success of these communities and our businesses at large.

RBCA CDC graduates were welcomed by RBCA members at Trinity Alliance for a job site visit at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, giving participants firsthand exposure to a major active construction project.

The visit connected classroom instruction and workforce preparation directly to the field, allowing students to observe project operations, workplace expectations, safety practices, construction career pathways, and the professionals responsible for delivering large-scale projects.

By connecting training, certifications, industry relationships, job site experience, and employment pathways, RBCA CDC helps participants see how their preparation can translate into real careers and long-term opportunities in construction.

Thank you to our Trinity Alliance members for opening the job site to our graduates and investing in the next generation of the construction workforce.

During RBCA Career Development Day, students participated in conversations focused on what happens after training — entering the workforce, navigating professional environments, building a strong reputation, and creating long-term success.

We were honored to welcome Chester McGee, who shared wisdom gained through 49 years of community leadership, along with Anthony Virgil of the City of Dallas, who spoke with students about career development, personal responsibility, perseverance, and the journey toward success.

RBCA CDC is committed to developing the whole professional, ensuring students leave our program with more than technical training. Our goal is to prepare individuals to enter the workforce with confidence, professionalism, and a clear understanding of what it takes to advance.

Graduation is not the finish line. It is the beginning of the next opportunity.

This month, RBCA CDC proudly celebrated the graduation of 12 students from Cohort 4, marking an important milestone in their journey toward long-term employment and career advancement in the construction industry.

Throughout the program, students completed hands-on, industry-focused training and earned two recognized credentials: OSHA 30 and NCCER Core Certification. Their training also emphasized workforce readiness, job-site safety, professionalism, technical fundamentals, and an understanding of construction career pathways.

We are proud of Cohort 4 and look forward to continuing to support these graduates as they transition from training into the workforce and begin building sustainable careers in construction.
