RBCA Texas

RBCA Texas Increasing the number of successful African and minority businesses by helping them gain access to procurement opportunities and capital is an ongoing process.

The Regional Black Contractors Association's mission is to advocate for and advance the development and growth of African-American owned businesses and their capacity. This contributes to and participates in the self-determination, economic growth and prosperity of African-American communities in the North Texas Region, thereby creating a strong economic base that develops, empowers and supports the ongoing success of these communities and our businesses at large.

Workforce Highlight: Ken James

Ken James is a powerful example of what can happen when determination meets opportunity. After facing obstacles for much of his life, Ken made the decision to move forward, earning his OSHA 30 certification and NCCER credentials through Dallas College and taking the next step into the workforce.

Today, Ken is working in solar panel installation and pursuing his Journeyman electrician license, continuing to build a future with purpose. His story reflects the kind of transformation RBCA-CDC works to support through workforce development, industry training, and real pathways to long-term success.

We are proud to highlight Ken and celebrate the progress he is making.

Workforce Highlight: Douglas Hill

Douglas Hill’s story is exactly why RBCA-CDC’s Second Chance Workforce Development Program matters. After years of battling addiction and incarceration, Douglas made the decision to stay focused, trust God, and build a better future. Through programs like RBCA and P.E.P., he is developing the skills, discipline, and foundation needed to move forward with purpose.

At RBCA-CDC, we believe second chances can lead to real careers, restored lives, and stronger communities.

We are proud to highlight Douglas and the progress he is making.

At RBCA, safety is personal.

Through our contractor network and workforce development program, we see every day how important it is for workers to not only get access to opportunity, but to be protected, trained, respected, and prepared when they step onto a jobsite.

Construction Safety Week 2026 is a reminder that strong projects start with safe people. As we continue connecting contractors to real opportunities and helping build the next generation of construction professionals, we remain committed to promoting a jobsite culture where every worker is seen, every hazard is taken seriously, and every team member makes it home.

This week, we stand with our contractors, workforce partners, trainees, and industry leaders in being All In Together: Recognize. Respond. Respect.

Fort Worth is moving, and opportunity is moving with it.

According to the Fort Worth Report, the value of commercial building projects in Fort Worth reached $5.72 billion in 2025, a 19% increase from the previous year. Commercial permits also rose by 10%, with 1,261 permits issued last year.

Even with signs of a broader slowdown, Fort Worth continues to show strong construction and infrastructure activity, including a 25.7% increase in infrastructure permits and more than 18,000 new residents added in 2025.

For contractors, suppliers, and industry partners, this is a clear reminder: North Texas remains one of the most active markets for growth, development, and opportunity.

RBCA will continue keeping contractors connected to the information, relationships, and access needed to compete in this evolving market.

What an incredible evening at our RBCA POWER Networking Happy Hour!

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the night such a success. From meaningful conversations to new connections and shared energy in the room, the evening was a powerful reminder of what happens when leaders, professionals, and changemakers come together with purpose.
