Thank you to the State Fair of Texas and its food and beverage vendors for supporting our community through the State Fair Cares Food Drive!

Empowering the Masses is grateful to be included in this meaningful post-Fair tradition, which connects unused food with local organizations helping feed our neighbors.

As the food drive celebrates its 11th anniversary, we celebrate the generosity and collaboration that make it possible. Thank you for helping us nourish our community!

Good food, new recipes, and community connection! 💙🍽️

Our Wellness Wednesday with Fit Men Cook brought fresh inspiration to the kitchen! We were especially happy to welcome our neighbors participating in our Food Pharmacy program as they learned how to create nutrient-dense meals at home.

On the menu:
Peach and Apricot Compote
Spiced Rice with Bacon and Raisins
Cajun Chicken Soup

Healthcare that moves with our community! 🚐💙

We welcomed Methodist Community Collaborative’s Mobile Medical Unit, “Big Blue,” to our Economic Empowerment Center, bringing primary care services right to our neighbors in Pleasant Grove.

Thank you to Methodist Community Collaborative for partnering with Empowering the Masses to make healthcare more accessible. We’re helping build a healthier, more empowered community together!

What an incredible evening of community, connection, and collaboration! 💙🧡

Our National Night Out celebration at our Economic Empowerment Center was a huge success! 🎉

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our vendors, community partners, and neighbors who joined us and helped make this event so special! We also extend a special thank you to the Dallas Police Department for their presence, support, and commitment to connecting with our community.

One of the highlights of the evening was our Community Listening Session, which gave us the opportunity to hear directly from Pleasant Grove residents about their needs, concerns, and hopes for the community. These valuable conversations will help us take a more intentional and targeted approach to the programs, resources, and services we provide.

We believe meaningful impact begins with listening, allowing us to cultivate a stronger, more empowered Pleasant Grove! 💙

🩺❤️ Another skill added to the toolkit!

Our Phlebotomy students recently completed their CPR training, gaining hands-on experience and learning how to respond confidently in emergency situations.

We want our students to leave training with more than technical knowledge. Experiences like this help build the confidence, preparedness, and practical skills they can carry with them into healthcare settings and beyond.

Empowering the Masses is excited to launch our NEW 16-week Medical Assistant Training Program for Spring 2027! 🩺✨

Applications open TOMORROW, October 1, and close November 13, 2026!

This hands-on program is designed to help participants build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to take the next step toward a career in healthcare.

Our team had the opportunity to attend the UNT Dallas Experiential Learning Expo and Faculty Networking event during Career Week! 🎓✨

It was a great afternoon of connecting with students, faculty, and fellow community partners while sharing more about Empowering the Masses and the ways we support education, workforce development, and career readiness.

Events like this create valuable space for students to explore internships, service-learning, hands-on learning experiences, and meaningful connections that can help shape their next steps.

Thank you to the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success at UNT Dallas for bringing organizations and students together and for continuing to invest in opportunities that prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

Thank you to everyone who came out and spent the day with us. 💙

In partnership with Texas Health Resources Faith Community Nursing, we were able to offer free flu shots during our weekly food pantry.

That matters because access to preventive care should not always require another appointment, another location, or another trip across town. By bringing flu shots directly into a space our community already uses, we were able to make one important health service easier to reach.

This is a big part of how Empowering the Masses approaches our work: bringing practical resources closer to the people who need them and reducing the barriers between our community and the services available to them.
