Final Exam Exemption Information-
The following students can be exempted from taking a final exam:
-Seniors in senior-level classes
-9th-12th grade students in AP classes
-Students in STAAR-EOC tested classes
In order to be exempted from an exam, students must meet the
following criteria:
SENIORS
β Seniors students must not be in loss of credit for the Spring Semester.
β Seniors must not have received placement in ISS, OSS, or CMLC during the Spring Semester.
β Seniors must be passing the course for the year.
9TH -12TH GRADE STUDENTS IN AP COURSES
β AP Students must have a minimum class grade of 85 (including quality points).
β AP Students must not be in loss of credit during the Spring Semester
β AP Students must not have received placement in ISS, OSS, or CMLC during the Spring Semester.
β AP Students must sit for the AP exam to be exempt from the class final exam.
ANY STUDENTS IN EOC TESTED COURSES
β Students must have been present and sat for the EOC exam.
β On-Level EOC students must have a minimum grade of 70 for the 4th Nine Weeks AND the overall Spring Semester average, and a passing grade overall for the year.
β Pre-AP EOC students must have a minimum grade of 80 (including quality points) for the 4th Nine Weeks AND the overall Spring Semester average, and a passing grade overall for the year.
β Students must not be in loss of credit for the spring semester.
β Students must not have received placement in ISS, OSS, or CMLC during the Spring Semester.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Students may take any semester exam if desired.
Students in AP courses should check with teachers for additional requirements.
Students must have a full-year average of 70 or better between both semesters.
Absences that do not count against student exemption: documented medical appointments, documented school-related absences, documented religious holidays, 11th and 12th Grade documented college visits, or quarantine excused days.
