📚🎉 What a surprise at the Ben Milam Elementary School Reading Rally!

The College Football Playoff Foundation once again demonstrated its incredible partnership with Catch Up & Read and the Cotton Bowl Foundation by presenting every member of our 9-person CAR team at Milam with a $500 DonorsChoose gift card! 🙌

That added up to an amazing $4,500 in classroom resources to support our teachers and students. We are so grateful for partners who continue to invest in literacy, educators, and student success.

We’re honored to share that Catch Up & Read’s Literacy Coaching team has been named a finalist in D Magazine’s 2026 Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards, presented in partnership with Communities Foundation of Texas🎉

Our team was selected as a finalist for Nonprofit Team of the Year: Midsize + Large.

This past year, our Literacy Coaching team:
📚 Supported programming across 26 elementary campuses
👩‍🏫 Trained 175 Catch Up & Read teachers
📈 Helped ensure 100% of Catch Up & Read students demonstrated reading growth

Behind every number is a child gaining confidence, a teacher growing in instructional expertise, and a community investing in brighter futures through literacy.

We are deeply grateful to D CEO, Communities Foundation of Texas, our partner schools, families, donors, and especially our Literacy Coaching team for making this impact possible.

Together, we’re helping more children read on grade level by third grade and opening doors to lifelong success.

We were honored to welcome Arielle Thomas, Sr. Manager, Government Relations, and Crystal DuBois, Sr. Marketing Communications Specialist and NEC Foundation of America Executive Director, to Thursday’s Reading Rally. Their participation helped make the day even more meaningful for our students, teachers, and community.

Day 4 of Reading Rallies and wrapping up an amazing first week! 🌟📖

Across , Cuellar, and , students showed up with confidence and so much joy. This week was filled with so much excitement, pride, and meaningful moments as students were recognized for their dedication and growth as readers.

Yesterday was the first day of Reading Rallies! 🎓📚

Reading Rallies are a time for us to celebrate students who completed the program and recognize the dedication they showed throughout their reading journey! From proud smiles to cheering families, Day 1 was full of meaningful moments and well-deserved recognition.

We cannot wait to continue celebrating more students throughout the week 💛

We loved welcoming students from The Hockaday School to spend time with our Catch Up & Read students and teachers at Nathan Adams and Caillet Elementary! 💙📚📝

As part of a class project, Hockaday students conducted interviews with our students and teachers, creating space to share stories, reflect on learning, and highlight classroom experiences.

Thank you to these thoughtful students for taking the time to listen, learn, and connect!

We’re so grateful for the amazing team from US Anesthesia Partners - USAP, who volunteered their time to help us prepare for upcoming Reading Rallies!

Together, they assembled over 1,000 student bags filled with materials that will support and inspire young readers!
