Texas Independent Animal Rescue Alliance

Texas Independent Animal Rescue Alliance We are a sharing place for independent fosterers in Texas. Through shared resources we can move further in our common mission of saving lives.

All those who foster outside a registered rescue are encouraged to seek and share information and support here. We go into the shelters and rescue pets on the day of their scheduled euthanization, get them healthy, then foster them in our homes until we find them a home of their own. In the past we have all paid for this on our own. By becoming a registered not-for-profit, we're able to hold fundr

aisers to assist us in our veterinary and pet food bills, thus allowing us to save more pets. Our 501(c)3 status is currently pending.

Texas, it’s time to get Jonathan Stickland out of office! If you are an animal lover please consider donating to his opponent! This is the same joke who called vaccinations “sorcery”! He’s clearly not what Texas needs!

Attention Texas animal lovers. In case you haven't heard, there has been a little incident in Brenham, where a young female veterinarian shot a cat with a bow and arrow then bragged about it on Facebook. She stated it was a feral tomcat, but it has been discovered that it was a foster cat in the care of a rescue group.

She has been fired by the clinic she worked for, but we should not be satisfied with that punishment. I urge each of you to contact the Austin County Sheriff and urge them to prosecute her for felony animal cruelty. I also urge you to go to the Texas Veterinary Board and file a complaint, requesting that they nullify her license to practice.

The contact information for both of these is as follows:

Austin County Sheriff: (979) 865-3111

TX Veterinary Board: tvbme.state.tx.us

Here is the news report of the incident. http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/Veterinarian-Brags-About-Killing-Cat-with-Bow-and-Arrow--300293461.html?device=phone&c=y

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating whether Dr. Kristen Lindsey should be charged with animal cruelty. (WARNING: Graphic Photo)
