Women in STEM Leadership (WiSL) is pleased to announce a $5,000 contribution from the American Woodmark Foundation in support of our 2026 Summer Python Programming Bootcamp for middle school students.

This program, scheduled for the week of June 8 at the University of Dallas in Irving, TX, is designed to provide middle school students with foundational programming skills, exposure to STEM career pathways, and access to mentorship from professionals in the field. WiSL's mission centers on creating equitable access to STEM education for youth and underrepresented communities and partnerships like this one make that work possible.

The American Woodmark Foundation's investment reflects a shared commitment to workforce readiness, youth development, and the long-term economic empowerment of the next generation.

We are honored by this support and look forward to delivering a transformative experience for our students this summer.

Women in STEM Leadership (WISL) is excited to announce our FREE Python Programming Summer Camp for 5th Graders!

📍 Location: University of Dallas – College of Business
Cardinal Farrell Hall, Classroom #205
📅 Dates: June 8 – June 12, 2026
⏰ Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Our WISL Programming Boot Camp for Middle School Children introduces students to the exciting world of coding through Python, one of the most in-demand programming languages today.

During this immersive, hands-on week, students will:

✅ Learn foundational coding concepts
✅ Build beginner-friendly Python projects
✅ Strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking skills
✅ Build confidence in technology
✅ Engage with STEM mentors

At WISL, we believe exposure creates opportunity. By introducing students — especially girls and underrepresented communities — to technology early, we are helping build the next generation of engineers, AI innovators, and tech leaders.

📢 We’re Hiring: Python Instructor for Youth Summer Camp (1-Week Engagement)

Women in STEM Leadership (WISL) is seeking an experienced Python Programmer / Instructor to teach our upcoming WISL Programming Boot Camp for Middle School Children.

📍 Location: University of Dallas – College of Business
Cardinal Farrell Hall, Classroom #205
📅 Dates: June 8 – June 12, 2026
⏰ Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (5 days)
💰 Compensation: Negotiable

This is a one-week, in-person teaching opportunity designed to introduce 5th graders to Python programming in a structured, engaging, and hands-on environment.

The selected instructor will:
✅ Deliver instruction using the provided WISL syllabus
✅ Follow a detailed instructor guide for lesson structure and pacing
✅ Teach foundational Python concepts in an age-appropriate manner
✅ Guide students through beginner-friendly projects
✅ Foster creativity, confidence, and critical thinking
✅ Create an inclusive, engaging classroom experience

Ideal Candidate:

Strong proficiency in Python

Experience teaching or mentoring youth (preferred)

Experience with VIBE

Ability to simplify technical concepts for young learners

Passion for STEM education and community impact

This is more than a teaching role — it’s an opportunity to help shape the next generation of innovators.

Women in STEM Leadership (WISL) will be hosting a one-week Summer Coding Camp for middle and high school girls at the University of Dallas in May 2026 and we need your support! 🌟
