Ever wonder why some of the best wines come from the toughest growing conditions? 🍇

That's the whole philosophy behind Stressed Vines Cellars— the harder a vine has to work to produce fruit, the more concentrated and vibrant the flavor, and the more balanced the acid and tannins. So instead of easy, pampered vines, they seek out old vines, dry-farmed vines, and high-elevation vineyards across Sonoma and Napa County — the ones that had to fight for it.

The result? Small-production, hand-crafted wines with a whole lot of character.

We're bringing Women for WineSense Dallas to their Richardson tasting room for a private evening on Tuesday, 9/15 — and we cannot wait to pour with them. 🥂

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our past president, Susan Via 💔

Remembering Susan Via 💜

It is with deep sadness that Women For WineSense mourns the passing of Susan Via, a longtime member, past president of the Dallas Chapter, and a cherished part of our WWS family.

Susan joined the Dallas Chapter shortly after its founding in 2007, serving as Events Director before taking the helm as Chapter President in 2016. For years, she was truly the backbone of the chapter. Her creativity, organizational skills, and thoughtful leadership helped WWS Dallas thrive and grow.

An event planner extraordinaire, Susan crafted outstanding educational experiences with quiet grace and meticulous attention to detail. She was a true student of wine—always curious, eager to learn, and passionate about sharing her knowledge.

Her love of wine took her around the world, though she treasured the friendships made along the way most of all.
Those who knew Susan will remember her far beyond her accomplishments.

We will remember her kindness, her quiet demeanor, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. She never needed to be the loudest voice in the room to make a profound impact; her generosity and commitment spoke for themselves.

Susan loved Women For WineSense and its mission. Her dedication left a lasting mark not only on the Dallas Chapter, but on our entire national community.

We are deeply grateful to her friends and colleagues who shared their memories. Reading your reflections on her kindness and quiet leadership has been a powerful reminder of how much she meant to us all.

As the Dallas Chapter shared: “We miss her every day as we continue to honor her legacy and make her proud of the Dallas Chapter going forward.” We will do the same across Women For WineSense. We are forever grateful for the years Susan gave to this organization, the experiences she created, and the warmth she brought to our community.

Our deepest condolences go out to Susan’s family, friends, and loved ones. Thank you, Susan, for everything. Your legacy will live on in the community you helped build.
