As 2018 draws to an end, it’s good to reflect on one’s actions during the year, so as to better oneself in the coming new year. It is also important to note how small acts of kindness throughout the year can make a difference in someone else’s life...
My daughter Serena Bata has been collecting her gift and chore money all year long to donate to her favorite charities. She’s also been fundraising by holding bake sales during the year.
This year she donated $500 to AKF in the fall, another check of $250 for Children's Health as well as $250 check for Community Partners of Dallas(which supports the foster kids and kids under the Child Protective Services in Dallas County). She donated 50 blankets to Dallas LIFE Homeless shelter and another 55 blankets to Victoria Gardens of Allen nursing home.
I’m attaching some pictures below...
Next year’s goal is to raise $1500. Of the $250 she got as gift money this Christmas, she’s allocated $125 towards her college fund, $25 towards toys and $100 towards the $1500 fundraising goal for 2019.
Keep up the great work, Serena Bata!
