🎊 Dallas Fire-Rescue x R3
RESPOND. RESTORE. RESOLVE. 🎊

R3 continues to create value for our members by providing retreat opportunities for them and their families to step away from the everyday stressors of work and life, and take time to restore.

The R3 Program is designed to help members address moral injury before it becomes a crisis.

A new website has also been launched to give our members another way to access resources, learn more, and dive deeper when they are ready.

Handling the stressors of the job looks different for everyone. What may not weigh heavily on you may affect your peer in a completely different way.

Max shares insight on how he manages the daily stressors of the job, along with his experience as a combat veteran and the things he witnessed while deployed. He also speaks on the importance of not feeling like you always have to be “macho,” and why it’s okay to reach out, show emotion, and talk through what you’re carrying.

The message is simple, get it out now instead of letting it build. Max is here, and you don’t have to carry it alone.

Being a chaplain is the ministry of presence.
It’s not about what you say… it’s about how you show up.

Chaplain Webb embodies that fully.

We’ve had members say that when she’s around, they feel like everything is going to be okay.
That kind of peace doesn’t come from words, it comes from experience and a real relationship with our Heavenly Father.

It doesn’t matter what you believe or where you come from.
She shows up the same way for everyone.
With love. With compassion. With consistency.

She leads with this:

1 Samuel 12:23
“As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.”

So when life gets heavy, when things feel off, or when you just need someone in your corner…
Know you have Chaplain Webb of Dallas Fire-Rescue Department

I enjoyed visiting Station 6 today. They’re one of the busiest houses in the city and this morning proved it. They had multiple runs before 11 a.m., which means breakfast didn’t happen at 7:30 or 8am as one would expect. At busy stations you eat when you can, sometimes closer to 10 a.m. on on the go.

As I was wrapping up to leave, they caught yet another run right as the sausages and eggs were getting done. Old habits kicked in. Like any good firefighter knows, when the tones drop and the crew rolls out, whoever is left at the station or on a different apparatus steps in and finishes the cooking so the team has something hot waiting when they return. It’s a silent rule in the firehouse, never written but always understood. And it’s always appreciated.

Morale of the story your DFR Peer support team is ALWAYS looking out for you guys and gals🎯

đź’«Peer Team Member Spotlight đź’«

He works at one of the busiest stations, Station 11, and it fits him perfectly. The pace and responsibility match who he is and what he brings every day. A true leader who shows up, sets the standard, and elevates everyone around him.

Confident, a devoted father and family man, and someone who genuinely cares about people. He does the work with no excuses and leads with purpose and heart. Through his years as a captain at the DFR Training Academy, he’s built meaningful relationships across the department. Wise under pressure and never one to complain.

What truly sets him apart is that he isn’t loud or dominating. He listens, gives you a voice, and makes sure you don’t walk alone.

This is Capt. Acuna of Station 11 and the DFR Peer Support Team.

đź’«PTM ( Peer team member ) Highlight đź’«

Not only do we have active field assigned members on the Peer Support Team, but we also have dedicated individuals on the civilian side who help connect the dots in powerful ways. Sean Larrea’s story, resilience, and life experience are genuinely inspirational, and his ability to relate across cultures, backgrounds, and lived experiences makes him an invaluable part of our peer support mission. Life experience does not require someone to be an actual firefighter to make a meaningful impact.

Sean Larrea is a huge part of what we do. He runs the wood shop and has spent years around the stations and the people. You have either seen him, heard about him, or worked alongside him. He genuinely cares for our members and is always hands on and ready to help.

Sean is proud to support Dallas Fire and the Peer Support Team. He shows up, gives back, and represents the strength, unity, and heart of the Dallas Fire Department family.
