People often ask us: what makes Café Momentum different from a job-training program?
Here’s the honest answer: a job alone isn’t enough. Kids coming out of the juvenile justice system are navigating housing instability, unfinished high school credits, trauma and a system that too often expects them to fail.
So we built something bigger than a kitchen.
Your support does all of this and even more by donating at the link below for North Texas Giving Day.

We built an ecosystem of support.
Culinary training: interns rotate through every role in the restaurant, from dish pit to dining room, working shoulder-to-shoulder with professional chefs and restauranteurs.
On-site accredited high school (Café Momentum Academy): because staying enrolled in traditional school is not always possible on this journey (but absolutely necessary), we help interns work toward their diploma on-site.
Building Trusted Relationships: supports off-site and after-hours experiences that give an intern and their case manager meaningful time together to build trust, explore opportunities and engage with the community.
A Safe Place to Talk: provides an hour of individual therapy for a Café Momentum intern.
A Classroom That is Your Restaurant: where we let award-winning chefs teach young adults how to play again, while also learning the skill of a craft.
A Table Where Everybody Eats: daily family meal where we serve one another, check in with each other and let’s be honest, critique each other’s cooking. 😉
