The Project

Started in June 2011 at the bottom of riverfront blvd in the (historical industrial district) in downtown Dallas Texas change has past the politics and now starting to take shape. On Corinth Street and Riverfront blvd at the bottom of the famous “Trinity River Bridge” a new arts district is being put up. Like the meat packing district in New York, or The industrial district in Toronto, Industrial Companies have used art in order to create a fun, safe environment which the people living or visiting Dallas can enjoy. Because of the joint efforts headed up by Louis Okon and Jason Bishop, as well as many other business owners and of course the City of Dallas, we now have the opportunity to do just that! The “Okon/Bishop Industrial Arts District” is finally underway. Located at the bottom of the Cedars West project on the corner of Riverfront and Corinth are 3rd and 4rth generation businesses. These are the companies that have gone from horse and carriages picking up product all the way to gasoline powered motors and freight companies. They continue to thrive, employ and give back to the community despite the current economy even today. This intense project has so far been solely funded and organized by Bishop, Okon, and a few others. Note To Artists and Sculptors who would like to help us out we will gladly accept the help, and donations. If you would like to introduce a “nice” piece of artwork or sculpture to the arts district, we will be happy to make “your art” a historical part of Dallas!!! Anyone who submits a donation or art and is approved, will have their name on the artwork, as well as all coverage showcasing your art will include your name and how you may be reached for other clients. As massive an undertaking as Cedars West as well as the Okon/Bishop Industrial Arts, We encourage everyone to realize that it is up to all of us to make our city THAT much better for ourselves and leave less of a burden on our children. I've known most of you guys personally for many years. And... Now I NEED your help!! I hate playing on fb but the reality is that it's the fans/friends that make "deal making" much easier for me!
