Lizard Circus Family Workshop

Lizard Circus Family Workshop We are a poetry workshop retreat! Featuring presentations by attendees, writing games, group exercises, and personal feedback! Potluck/BYOB. Welcome!

The Lizard Circus Family Workshop is a free intensive retreat at Lizard Circus co-founder, Craig Nydick's house in Deep Ellum. Everyone invited has an opportunity both to listen and learn, and to teach and engage. It will be a potluck and BYOB. Craig has a lot of free parking available and a balcony to smoke and hang out on. The best entrance to Craig's apartment is near the pool, on Live Oak, mid

way between the main/garage/leasing office entrance and Good Latimer. There will be round-table workshops, group activities, writing prompts and games, one-on-one feedback, and all of this in a supportive family atmosphere! All who are interested should feel comfortable teaching in one area or another, whether that be performance, style, formatting, editing, visual arts, mixed media, or the process itself. This is a leading/learning workshop retreat, and a safe space for all! Lizard Circus happens one day every three months, so sty informed! Hours on that day are from 12 p.m. until 8:30 p.m and a potluck lunch will be served. The list is short and fills up quickly, so let us know you're interested early on!

Good afternoon fellow Lizards!
We will be finalizing the workshop schedule in the next 24 hours, so if you have not already signed up on the Google doc to present, please do so ASAP. (Those who have accessed the doc, there is new info on there that may be useful, so you may want to revisit it.)
Thanks, and we are looking forward to sunning ourselves on warm rocks with you on Saturday!

About Us.

Welcome! The Lizard Circus Family Workshop is an intensive poetry workshop retreat formerly hosted at Lizard Circus co-founder, Craig Nydick's house in Deep Ellum. Our new venue is Top Ten Records, an Oak Cliff mainstay, and we are super honored to be working with them! Everyone invited has an opportunity both to listen and learn, and to teach and engage. It will be a potluck and BYOB. There will be round-table workshops, group activities, writing prompts and games, one-on-one feedback, and all of this in a supportive atmosphere! All who are interested should feel comfortable teaching in one area or another, whether that be performance, style, formatting, editing, visual arts, mixed media, or the process itself. This is a leading/learning workshop retreat, and a safe space for all! Lizard Circus happens every other month. Dates are apt to change but we host workshops on three Mondays out of the month we’re active, and then the performance where everything culminates happens typically on the last Friday of that month. For specific months and hours, please contact one of the LCFW founders or Lily Taylor of Top Ten Records. While the workshops are free, we charge $10 for the performance but no one is turned away for lack of funds. Workshops are by invitation only, and the performances are open invite.
