ICARE's goal is to reduce recidivism and improve social functioning for those who have been unsuccessful in traditional settings. ICARE is based out of Desoto, TX and was founded in 2007 in Omaha, NE. ICARE workshops are offered during the evening and on weekends. The program is designed to produce long-lasting results and to provide tools that can be used to identify and defuse anger before it ge
ts out of control. Sessions are safe, supportive, productive — and fun! Classes are conducted in convenient locations throughout DFW and available virtually as well. Kainette Jones, CEO, has over 15 years experience working with at-risk youth, planning and conducting structured enrichment programming to build skills, increase knowledge and affect the attitudes of youth. She oversees the community outreach efforts of a local youth mentoring program and is the past Chair of the Midlands Mentoring Partnership Provider’s Council, as well as past Vice President of the Omaha Cares Mentoring Circle. She is currently Co-Chair of the Southwest Alliance of Black Educators Youth and Community Committee and a member of the NAACP. Anneice Jones, Program Director, was nominated Teacher of the Year for her work with Upward Bound. She has an MS in Social Science and a second Master's in Special Education. Her diverse background in Multi-Cultural Education, allows her to work effectively with youth from all socio-economic backgrounds with special needs. ICARE works closely with local agencies, organizations and the community to promote an awareness of program issues and needs, and to coordinate and/or develop additional, financially feasible services that meet the critical needs of youth in our community.
