Westward: Tin District
A curated exhibition of artists from one of Texas’s most intentionally assembled studio communities
OPENING RECEPTION: May 29, 6-9pm
WHERE: 2720 Bataan Street
WHEN: May 29 - July 19, 2026
*Westward: Tin District* is a month-long satellite exhibition extending one of the most intentionally assembled concentrations of working artists in Texas beyond its physical boundaries.
Centered in West Dallas, the Tin District is home to approximately eighty to ninety professional artists working in close proximity, alongside Ro2 Art, a contemporary gallery embedded within the district that enhances the visibility and presentation of work emerging from this community.
Established as a deliberately assembled environment for working artists, the Tin District now includes an institutional layer through a University of Texas at Dallas graduate program extension within the district—adding to an already active and evolving ecosystem.
Activated adjacent to Trinity Groves in West Dallas (5 minutes from the v City Center) during a period of increased international attention, *Westward* brings this ecosystem into motion—expanding its reach, introducing it to new audiences, and positioning it within a broader cultural and geographic context.
This exhibition is not simply a group show, but a strategic extension—an outward movement from a concentrated source of artistic production into a space of public engagement.
