We’re excited to share the results of the 1st Annual Southwest Transplant Alliance Youth Art Competition! 🎨💙 This year’s contest invited students to express what it means to “Leave a Legacy” through original artwork inspired by the impact of organ donation—saving lives, offering hope, and honoring the gift of life.

This week, we partnered with Turner Construction Company for a special event at Build-A-Bear Workshop in Galleria Dallas. Together, team members created more than 100 “heartbeat bears” for the families of our youngest heroes and for young children whose parent was a heroic organ donor.

Each bear includes a custom pouch that holds a recording of a loved one’s heartbeat, providing comfort, connection, and hope to donor families during their grief journey.

Thank you, Turner Construction Company, for helping us honor organ donor heroes and celebrate the lasting impact of their gift—one bear at a time! 🧸💙

What an incredible way to kick off our 2026 Donate Life Night Baseball Season! This week, we proudly teamed up with the Corpus Christi Hooks to celebrate the incredible gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

A special ceremonial first pitch was thrown by the best friend & Donor Family of Donor Hero Eric—whose legacy lives on through the four lives he saved through organ donation. Thank you to our Corpus Christi donor families, team members, volunteers, and donation partners who joined us for this meaningful evening at the ballpark!

Recently, the family of donor hero Alex met his heart recipient, David, for the first time. Both families came together to share memories, gratitude, and the powerful connection created through the gift of life.

During the visit, Alex's family was able to listen to their loved one's heartbeat once more — a moving reminder that his vibrant spirit, love for family & animals, and unwavering selflessness continue to live on. 💙💚

At the Hope Starts Here 5K, hundreds of runners, walkers, donor families, transplant recipients, and donation champions came together for one powerful reason: hope. From honoring loved ones, to celebrating second chances, our Community of Hope showed up in support of STA's lifesaving mission.

Nació con síndrome de hipoplasia del ventrículo izquierdo, Eli enfrentó desafíos desde muy pequeño. Hoy, a los 4 años, puede disfrutar de su infancia y crear nuevos recuerdos gracias al regalo de un nuevo corazón donado por un niño llamado Beau🩵.

A través de la donación de órganos, las familias de Eli y Beau están unidas para siempre en una historia de valentía, esperanza y sanación que continúa honrando el legado de Beau.

Born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, Eli faced challenges from the very beginning of his young life. Today, at 4 years old, he’s able to enjoy childhood and make new memories thanks to the gift of a new heart from a brave little boy, Beau. 🩵

Through organ donation, Eli and Beau’s families are forever connected in a story of courage, hope, and healing that continues to honor Beau’s legacy.

At Southwest Transplant Alliance, we love sharing our lifesaving mission with community partners who are passionate about making an impact in their own communities. 💚💙

Last week, we were honored to welcome the Health, Education and Life Science Council from Urban Land Institute to our Legacy Center for a meaningful experience centered around hope, healing, and the power of organ donation. During their visit, the group participated in interactive education, explored our facility, and heard powerful stories that highlighted the impact of donation and transplantation.
