Check out Recovery Resource Council’s Kaufman Coalition, Kaufman County THRIVES! They’ve got some exciting things coming for drug take back day 💚

💊 Last week’s Rotary program was an important one!!!

We welcomed Tana Dowd with Recovery Resource Council / Kaufman County THRIVES to talk about prescription drug safety, fentanyl awareness, & prevention resources available right here in our community.

A few big takeaways:
💊 Properly dispose of unused medications
🧠 Teach kids how to respond in real-life situations… not just to “say no”
⚠️ Fentanyl awareness matters more than ever
❤️ Families have local resources & support available

We also learned more about DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day & the importance of keeping unused medications out of the wrong hands.

Thank you, Tana, for helping educate our club & our community! 💙⚙️

📉 A positive shift in the fight against fentanyl.

Dallas County saw a 47% decrease in fentanyl-related emergency department visits from Q2 2025 to Q2 2026 — from 91 visits to 48.

Every number represents a person, a family, and a community. 💜 While there is still work to do, progress like this is worth recognizing.

Through prevention, education, awareness, and access to resources, we can continue making a difference and saving lives.

💜 Community. Connection. Conversations that matter.

We had such a meaningful time at Weatherford College for Campus Conversations: Fentanyl Facts Over Fear! 🎥

We had the opportunity to share our Dancing With Death documentary and participate in a powerful panel discussion about fentanyl awareness, prevention, and the impact substance use can have on individuals, families, and our communities.

We also joined the Follow Our Lead Coalition, connecting with amazing community partners and sharing resources about Recovery Resource Council and the support available to individuals and families in our community. 🤝

These conversations are so important. By sharing stories, increasing awareness, connecting people to resources, and working together, we can help create safer, healthier communities. 💜

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make these events possible and to all of our community partners who continue to follow our lead in prevention, awareness, and recovery!

October is officially here! As spooky season kicks off, many of us are looking forward to costume parties and Halloween celebrations. If you’re planning your activities, remember that a great night doesn’t have to include alcohol. Trick-or-treating with family or organizing a Halloween game night with friends are awesome ways to celebrate safely and create lasting memories.

We had a great time last week at Impact Navarro’s Compassion in Action Event. We were able to share information, listen to some amazing speakers, and share our Dancing with Death documentary with professionals and community members. That was followed with a panel to discuss substance use, Narcan, trends, and treatment 💙
