Our VOA Serving Territory 3 was represented and attended the Scouting America National Annual Meeting (NAM) on May 12-15, 2026! During this year’s NAM, National Venturing Awards & Recognition Lead Patrick Jaime (also our Council Support Advisor) presented the 2026 National Venturing Leadership Award at the Older Youth Programs National Reception on Wednesday, May 13, to six of the nine recipients who attended in person. Among those six recipients was Elizabeth Morgan, NVOA Associate Advisor for Territory Support; hailing from CST 3. Dinh Tran (not in attendance) was also recognized as a National VLA recipient from CST 3. Towards the end of the reception, the newly sworn NVOA President-Elect Shreemann Patel introduced the rest of the NVOA’s Vice Presidents. That was when our Council Support President Omar Jimenez was announced as the 2026-27 NVOA Vice President of Administration. Omar’s official officer bio is posted on the National Venturing, Officers’ Association social media. In addition to these recognitions, Omar served as one of the few Territory Venturing officers that were selected to participate in the National Venturing officer cohort. This cohort represented & promoted the Venturing program to various national-level professionals/volunteers, served alongside the youth color guard during the NAM Opening Session, and staffed the Venturing booth at the NAM Exhibitor Hall. Congratulations to Omar on his selection as the 2026-27 NVOA VP of Administration and to both Elizabeth Morgan and Dinh Tran for receiving the 2026 National Venturing Leadership Award!

VOA Serving Territory 3 executive team in-person meet up at Santa Cruz, CA on April 19, 2026! Our youth officers (who are also the 2026 CST 3 VLA recipients) were presented their Territory VLA medals then enjoyed lunch just outside the beach boardwalk.

Congratulations to the 2026 Territory 3 Venturing Leadership Award (VLA) Recipients: Omar Jimenez and Henry Lloyd!

The Territory VLA is presented to Venturing youth and adults who display exceptional dedication, give outstanding leadership & service to Venturing at the Territory level, and exemplify the Scout Oath & Scout Law. Note: recipient biographies will be published in our May 2026 End of the Term Newsletter.

Shoot. Climb. Explore. Plan Your Own Adventure.
This is not your typical week at camp. Older Youth Adventure Week at Camp Hi-Sierra is built for Scouts ages 14 to 21 who want more challenge, more independence, and experiences you will not find during a regular summer camp session. From advanced shooting sports to real rock climbing to a youth-planned adventure day at Pinecrest, this week is active, hands-on, and built around you.

Do you know a venturer who has made an impact this year! Now is the time to recognize them. Submit a territory or national nomination to [email protected] by February 15th (National) or March 1st (Territory).

Council level award nominations must be directed to your appropriate council leaders. Contact your council for more information regarding this tier of the VLA.
