Meet Delany Durant, your Residential Community Director for Loyd! 💚

Continuing her first year here on the Hilltop, Delany is excited to keep fostering a vibrant and engaging community at Loyd Commons!

Originally from New York, right along the Canadian border, and a proud graduate of St. Lawrence University, Delany brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her role. 🎓

When she’s not busy around the commons, you’ll likely find her at Dedman playing hockey, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or grabbing a cup of bottomless coffee at Café Brazil, one of her favorite off-campus spots! 🏒☕

She can’t wait to meet and support all of the new Loydians this year. Welcome to the Lla-familia! Pony Up! 🐴🙌

Did you know that Loyd Commons is named after Paul B. Loyd, Jr. (‘68) and his wife, Penny Requa Loyd? 💚

The Loyds’ generous $5 million leadership gift helped make our Residential Commons possible, creating a place where generations of Mustangs can live, learn, and build community.

Their impact extends far beyond Loyd Commons. Through decades of service and philanthropy, they’ve supported scholarships, athletics, student programs, and numerous initiatives that continue to shape the SMU experience. Their extraordinary commitment to the University earned them the Mustang Award in 1999, and their legacy can be seen across campus, including Loyd Commons and the Paul B. Loyd, Jr. All-Sports Center.

Welcome to Loyd Commons! 💚

Just steps away from Mustang Garage and Arnold Dining, Loyd is where community meets convenience. Our building features two game rooms with newly purchased activities, several study spaces, and plenty of spots to connect with fellow residents. Additionally, this fall we are pleased to introduce a new beverage bar available to all residents in the lobby!
