LGBTQ+ History Month reminds us that our history was built by people who showed up, spoke out, and cared for their communities.

From Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera to the countless transgender people and transgender people of color who helped shape our movement, we honor the giants who came before us.

But history isn’t only behind us. It’s being written every day.

Across Texas, small LGBTQ+ nonprofits are carrying that legacy forward by creating safe spaces, supporting trans communities, serving LGBTQ+ youth, and building stronger communities in the places we call home.

The Big Give is back! Starting at 6 PM today through 6 PM Thursday, communities across South Central Texas will come together to support more than 400 local nonprofits serving San Antonio and 14 surrounding counties.

And among them are LGBTQ+ organizations doing the everyday, often behind-the-scenes work of making our communities stronger, safer, healthier, and more connected.
