Today, we remember the 49 lives lost at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando and honor the survivors, families, and communities forever changed by that tragedy. Pulse was more than a nightclub it was a sanctuary, a place of joy, belonging, and celebration for LGBTQ+ people, especially LGBTQ+ people of color.

A decade later, the work is not finished. LGBTQ+ communities across the country, including here in Texas, continue to face violence, discrimination, barriers to healthcare, housing instability, and attacks on our rights and dignity. Remembering Pulse means more than mourning the past; it means recommitting ourselves to building a future where every LGBTQ+ person can live safely, authentically, and with pride.

At Texas Pride Community Foundation, that commitment is at the heart of everything we do. Through strategic grantmaking, leadership development, and statewide partnerships, we support LGBTQ+-serving organizations across Texas that are providing life-saving services, community connection, advocacy, healthcare access, HIV prevention and care, youth support, housing assistance, and spaces where people can simply be themselves.

Pulse reminded us of the power and resilience of our community. It also reminded us that progress requires action, investment, and solidarity. We are proud to stand alongside the organizations and leaders doing this critical work every day often in the face of growing challenges.

We remember. We honor. We continue the work.

Since making our first grant in 2017, Texas Pride Community Foundation has granted more than $2.5 million to over 130 organizations across our state. These organizations are creating safer, healthier, and more connected communities for LGBTQ+ Texans every day.

As Texas' only LGBTQ+ community foundation, we are uniquely positioned to support the transformational and life-saving work happening in communities large and small. Many of our grantees are grassroots organizations operating with limited staff, volunteer leadership, and scarce resources. They are often serving under-resourced, rural, and historically overlooked communities where support can be difficult to find but desperately needed.

We invite you to stand with us today, June 4 and make a gift that will support LGBTQ+ communities throughout Texas.

Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient future.

You're Invited! Leading Through the Moment: LGBTQ+ Nonprofits, Philanthropy, and the Path Forward in Texas

As organizations across our state navigate an increasingly complex political climate, shifting funding landscapes, and growing community needs, conversations rooted in collaboration, resilience, and action are more important than ever.

We are especially honored to welcome representatives from Funders for LGBTQ Issues, Equality Texas, The Normal Anomaly Inc., and State Representative Venton Jones for what promises to be a thoughtful and meaningful dialogue.
