POV: your summer is suddenly full of trail walks, dog park runs, and a very athletic emotional support dog... that's me, I’m River! 😌 I’m just under 2 years old, I’ve got LOTS of energy, and absolutely zero interest in wasting a sunny day inside.

I do great with other dogs and have even gone to doggy daycare like a social king 👏 I can be a little shy when meeting new people at first (especially men), but give me a little patience and I warm up quickly into the sweetest, most loyal guy 🫶

I’d thrive in an active home where I can play, exercise, and be included in the fun. Whether we’re going on hikes, hanging out outside, or just enjoying a lazy evening after a busy day, I’m happiest being with my people 🐾✨

🚨 DFW, we need your help — and we need it NOW. 🚨

Several of our amazing full-time fosters have upcoming travel, and we're urgently looking for temporary fosters to step in and "babysit" some of our bullies for a few days or weeks. Without temp fosters, these dogs have nowhere to go.

And if you're wondering if temporary fostering is for you...

🐾 YES — you can have resident dogs! We'll match you with a foster who fits your home and many dogs thrive with canine role models.

📦 YES — crating is required (unless otherwise approved by our training team), and we'll provide the crate.

❤️ YES — you just need to love dogs. Even in a short time, you'll give these pups safety, stability, and the love they deserve.

A few days of your time could mean everything to a dog who's already been through so much. Here's who needs your help and when...

❣ Lilith 6/17-6/23 (needs structure and routines, ok with older children because she can be mouthy, no other dogs)

❣ Pogo 6/18-6/29 (all around good boy and good in the kennel, potty trained and easy going)

❣ Catalina 6/20-6/27 (crate and rotate champ, reactive to other dogs and will need a strong handler)

❣ Rowdy 6/24-6/29 (puppy energy and working on potty training, good with other dogs)

🚨 URGENT: Peggy needs out of HQ now. If we can't get her into a calm foster home, her IVDD will continue to take over her little body. 💔

One of our longest HQ residents needs you. Peggy's little body is telling us it can't keep up with shelter life anymore.

Her IVDD symptoms are worsening, and what she needs most isn't another procedure or miracle cure. She needs rest. A quiet home. A soft place to land where she can heal before further injury takes away the happy, goofy little dog we know and love.

We're urgently looking for a full-time foster—or even a temporary one—to give Peggy the calm environment her body desperately needs.

The Love Pit will cover everything: medical care, supplies, and support. You won't be doing this alone. All Peggy needs is a person willing to be there for her.

Despite her party-girl act, Peggy thrives with structure, routine, and clear direction. She can be a little vocal at first, but once she's settled and knows what's expected of her, she relaxes into home life beautifully.

To set Peggy up for success, we're looking for an experienced foster home with:
🐾 No babies, toddlers or cats
🐾 Ideally, no other dogs (though she can do well with proper introductions and slow management!)
🐾 Plenty of time for crate rest and calm, controlled outings
🐾 An experienced dog owner who can confidently manage her leash reactivity
🐾 Minimal stairs, if possible
She's equal parts stubborn Frenchie and bully breed wrecking ball—charismatic, hilarious, and full of personality. Meet Winnie ❤️ the sweetest 6-year-old girl who would make any house feel like a home. She has the most fun, loving, energetic personality that really shines when she is out of HQ.

Winnie is the kind of dog who loves her people deeply. She thrives on human connection and would much rather spend her days relaxing in the summer sun than continuing to wait for her forever family in the HQ environment.

She’s crate trained, walks well on a leash and is an all-around good girl. The only time she might need some reminding is when a squirrel or a bunny makes an appearance. Those little critters are just too exciting!

Winnie will do best in a home with no other pets - just her, you and lots of love 💛

What Winnie needs most isn’t perfection. She needs a safe, comfortable space to land and a person willing to build a relationship based on love and trust.

A volunteer favorite, Miss Pandora is an athletic, smart girl who thrives in a group. She enjoys going on walks, playing with stimulating toys, and cuddling by your feet. She's always working on building confidence through guidance and routine.
