This girl’s vision was so bad, the eye care provider went back to his office and cry after treating her.

Joseph Carbone, President of Eye Care 4 Kids ™, and a committed member of EVF's Changing Life through Lenses (CLTL) program, recently provided a free eye exam to a teenager with a severe vision impairment.

Her vision was so poor, she was considered legally blind and would not have been able to see a single letter on an eye chart. Not only was this moment life-changing for the teenager, but a moment he will never forget. “She’d never had a vision screening, never had an eye exam, and never had glasses. I went back to my office and cried,” Joseph deeply recalled. The impact of this treatment will resonate throughout every area of her life.

As the holiday season approaches, we’re making it easier for eye doctors to give back to their communities by providing up to $1,500 in Relief funds. For more information, eye doctors can visit CLTL.org/relief on ways you can get started.

Victoria’s normally bubbly personality became subdued as she attempted to see her world. That is why her teacher became concerned when she saw a change in Victoria’s behavior and noticed she was squinting..

She is an example of how vision impacts every aspect of a child’s life from learning, confidence and social interactions to participating in activities such as sports, art or music.

We recently went to visit one of our elementary schools from our “Back to School” programs. The fine folks at Essilor Vision Foundation were there doing free eye exams and we dropped off more uniforms and dress clothes for the amazing kids at JN Ervin Elementary of Dallas ISD!

Essilor Vision Foundation is committed to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences. This month we have reached an incredible milestone! We have provided 500,000 pairs of glasses to people in need since 2007. We could fill the Dallas Cowboy’s AT&T Stadium five times with the number of people who received a pair of glasses.
