So, we are thankful today for foster families. It is HARD. Hard to pour love into an animal you aren’t going to keep forever. HARD to help them adapt to being a pet, a loving part of a family. HARD to let them go.
But the reward is their journey and transformation: watching them heal and learn to be loved and give love.

We are so thankful that people open their hearts and homes to otherwise discarded lives. This is Fawkes- she will be available for adoption soon. She was abandoned at a park (yes, all attempts to find her family have been exhausted) and a lovely family is now fostering her. She is roughly a year old. And, absolutely adorable!!!!!

Today’s the day!
North Texas Giving Day is the biggest day of fundraising for charities in DFW, and for smaller rescues like us- our lifeline.
While we know it’s difficult to choose who to support, we ask that you consider ART.
Since 2014, our group has saved the lives of hundreds of animals, including some that have to remain in our program indefinitely. While our intakes have slowed throughout the years, we still have fosters in our program who rely on donations for medical care, food, and other needs. With even a small contribution, we can make a large impact on the life of an animal who may have otherwise not had a chance!

Our NeedsOur current needs are: funds for medical expenses, volunteers with experience in web design, and additional foster homes in order to expand our adoption program.

Long time, no see!
Let us reintroduce ourselves. We are Animal Rescue of Texas, ART for short. Though this last year has been slow for new intakes, we do have a few fosters that are a part of our permanent foster program and we need your help to continue to provide care and resources. North Texas Giving Day is the biggest time for donations that are desperately needed for a smaller rescue organization like us, and we hope that you consider choosing us!

This is a very difficult post to make. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nala. Nala was pulled from the shelter in April 2021 extremely anxious and shut down, but through many years of hard work by her extremely loving foster, she had come to enjoy life- sitting in the backyard sunbathing, loving her foster siblings, and finding hidey holes around the house.
On Saturday night, Nala was rushed to the ER because her gums had gone suddenly pale. The first thought by the veterinary staff was a mass on her spleen, however it seemed to be a much larger vascular issue and we made the difficult decision to let her go. 💔
This loss has left her foster and our group hurting, as we do everything we can for the animals we pull.

As many may know, we are a small local based rescue group and ER bills can be very expensive. To help us cover the cost of Nala’s bills and any future medical bills that may come up we would greatly appreciate it.

Meet Merle! 🐶🐾
Merle is the best boy- he’s potty trained, crate trained, and has done pretty well on a leash. He is a very chill little one who enjoys spending his days on the couch with his fosters as much as he enjoys his toys. Merle is just about 5 months old and is searching for his forever family! ❤️

Today is a very special day, indeed. One of our long term fosters has found a very special home! Kylo was a covid baby, his fosters pulled him from the shelter with 4 other siblings during the lockdown of 2020. Kylo was adopted, but as he grew, it was realized that it wasn’t the best home for him. Kylo lacked confidence, and needed extra help in the training department. ART didn’t give up on him- and got him all the best training we could! He’s been waiting and waiting for his person to come- and they did!!! We want to thank Amy ❤️ for falling in love with his sweetness. They are the perfect pair ❤️
