Free webinar on history of

In June 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, news of freedom finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, marking a defining moment in American history.

That moment became Juneteenth.

Join us on June 18 for “Juneteenth: A Texas Freedom Story,” a virtual conversation exploring the history, legacy, and continued remembrance of this important day. Historians Ed Cotham and Samuel Collins III will discuss a moment rooted in Texas history that grew into something much larger. Together, they explore how the legacy of Juneteenth continues to be recognized and remembered across generations.

Register today and join the conversation.
