On Thursday , October 15 we will pop up for Bilingual Community Story Time, book gifting, hands on craft experience and of course the bookmobile will be open for a community book fair for all ages. Special thanks to Joe V’s Smart Shop for helping to make this possible and for championing book access and the culture of reading with us! Have friends and family in Duncanville? We couldn’t be more excited about this collaboration! We are teaming up with ACLU of Texas and Halperin Park for an upcoming community story time, book gifting and opportunity to meet the ACLU Texas Artist in Residence!!!

Gather with us for a bilingual reading of Lola Out Loud—a powerful and inspiring imagined story about real-life civil rights activist and labor leader Dolores Huerta that reminds us that even our biggest heroes started out small.
First 20 families will recvieve a gifted copy of the story time book, it’s our way of sharing great stories and helping to build home libraries.

Following the reading, families will enjoy a hands-on craft activity and time to connect, create, and celebrate the power of stories and community.

We’ll also be joined by ACLU of Texas Artist-in-Residence Vincent Valdez. Attendees can meet the artist and receive a complimentary limited-edition print from his series, A Tribute to Those Working Toward a Better Tomorrow, Today.

Bring the family for a morning of stories, art, creativity, and community! Let us know your are joining us and RSVP on Eventbrite.

What an incredible surprise! 🎉
We received a special visit today from Communities Foundation of Texas, along with a generous and deeply appreciated $5,000 donation to support Activating Reading Communities Organization (ARCO)’s mission to activate Dallas’ reading culture and expand book access in book deserts. 📚❤️

We’re so grateful for this investment in our community and in the power of literacy!

Now, help us reach our $10,000 North Texas Giving Day goal! 🙌🏾 Every dollar brings us closer to putting more books into the hands of Dallas readers and creating greater access to stories, learning, and opportunity. Let’s keep the book mobile rolling.

Make a donation today using the link in our bio. 🔗

No donation is too small. Every gift makes a difference! 💙📖
