Survivor's: Cancer free Cookout

Survivor's: Cancer free Cookout Celebrate life....... Your life. With the ones who love you and have supported you. Stop allowing cancer to be this taboo secret, killing us with no immunity.

Fight back, spread the knowledge. Then, enjoy life. If you don't know how, FIND A WAY. The day I found out I had cancer, that was a very long day. But I'll back up. About for 3 months, prior to the diagnosis, I had been feeling the same, but different. Quite frankly, I had been having problems with my testicles hanging too low, damn near sitting on them. I thought it was just old man syndrome. Thi

s continued and progressively got worse. I wouldn't go to the doctor because I didn't want to be a big baby. So I played it off. Until one day, I happen to feel myself, because I WAS concerned. In case some of you don't know, testicles are suppose to be soft and round. That morning, mine were hard and squared, like dice. I grabbed my wallet, called a friend and headed to the doctor. That day seemed so long. I went through that and the surgery alone. Because I was embarrassed about having testicular cancer. But once I begin chemo, I knew that I would need some support, so I told my mother. From then on, she was there everyday to pick me up 5 days a week for 6 months. I don't know what I would have done without her. These are the two reasons why we are having this cookout period for one to celebrate the life of the survivors of this deadly disease. And for two, to celebrate those who support us when we are at our worst.
