Recognizing the value of young professionals, the YLC supports JDRF through events that are dynamic, energetic and fun.

The YLC is a group of young professionals living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area who are dedicated to Breakthrough T1D's mission to drive toward curing type 1 diabetes, and help make everyday life better for the people who face it. The JDRF North Texas YLC hosts various fundraising, networking, and social events throughout the year to attract hundreds of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40.

🏃‍♀️💙 Runner Spotlight: Jill Whoberry

Meet Jill Whoberry, a proud member of our Breakthrough T1D North Texas Young Professionals and one of our incredible Team Breakthrough T1D runners!

Jill will run the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12 in honor of her family’s journey with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Her sister was diagnosed at age 2, and Jill was diagnosed at 16.

Over the years, Jill has seen firsthand how Breakthrough T1D–funded research has transformed life with T1D through tools like continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps.
