Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have to protect children in our community. DCAC provides free professional and community training that helps educators, law enforcement, medical providers, and community members recognize and report signs of child abuse, building safer systems for kids across Dallas County.

If your team, school, or organization could benefit from this kind of training, comment “TRAINING” below and share this post with your HR, supervisor, or leadership team to start the conversation. Together, we can protect more children.

Did you know there are more than 900 Children’s Advocacy Centers across the U.S., with over 70 located in Texas?

Recently, members of the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center team had the privilege of visiting the Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County in Tyler.

Across our state and country, CACs are united by a shared mission: to protect children, support healing, and strengthen families. What we saw in Smith County is a powerful reflection of what’s possible when communities invest in that mission—creating spaces where children feel safe, supported, and heard.

We’re proud to be part of this network. Together, we are stronger—learning from one another, lifting each other up, and advancing this work side by side.

Summer is full of good things—late nights, long drives, and lots of outdoor fun. With so much going on, little safety habits like bringing extra water, grabbing bug spray, and glancing in the back seat can offer extra peace of mind.

Use these tips in whatever way makes sense for your family’s routine, and keep them handy as a gentle reminder all season long.

Playgrounds, bikes, and backyard fun are what kids love most about summer. Helmets, close supervision, and saying “no” to fireworks can help prevent serious injuries.

Use this post as a checklist before your next park, bike, or backyard day, and talk through these tips with the kids in your life.

Water fun should always come with water safety. A “water watcher,” life jackets, and swim lessons can help prevent tragedies and keep summer memories joyful.

Pass this along to a friend or family member who’ll be at the pool or lake with kids this summer.

It's Summer Safety Week at DCAC, and we are sharing quick tips every day to help keep your kiddos safe!

The Texas sun is no joke. This summer, things like SPF 30+, lots of water, and shade breaks can help keep kids safe while they play outside.

Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center is proud to have partnered with the FBI Dallas Division and 90+ law enforcement agencies across Texas on Operation Soteria Shield, a two‑month effort targeting online child exploitation.

This coordinated operation led to 276 arrests and the rescue of 89 children who were being exploited online, underscoring the power of collaboration between law enforcement, prosecutors, and child advocacy organizations.

We are grateful to our partners at FBI - Dallas, the North Texas Child Exploitation Task Force, and the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for their commitment to protecting children across our state.

If you suspect a child is being abused or exploited, report it immediately to law enforcement or the Texas Child Abuse Hotline at 1‑800‑252‑5400.

Throughout May, DCAC took time to celebrate the officers and investigators who help protect children every day. They walk into tough situations, hear the hardest stories, and still show up with strength and compassion for kids and families.

Last week, our MDT Coordination Team visited all of our law enforcement partner agencies to drop off tokens of appreciation as a simple way to say “we see you, and we’re grateful.”

We are so thankful for our law enforcement partners and the many ways they stand in the gap for children in our community.
