The DarNell and Edna Pemberton Family Foundation is a vision of my mother, Edna Pemberton. She told me 2 years ago that we needed to launch this organization. She wanted to make sure the legacy she and my daddy left would live on, and the organization needed to reflect both of their passions.

My daddy Rev DarNell Pemberton was really big on education. He held a number of degrees and wanted everyone to be educated.

My mother Edna Pemberton wanted to make sure everyone felt the love of Jesus Christ. She was well known for food give aways, clothes give aways, school supply give aways, etc. She loved the Lord, her family and her community.

Each year in February we will have a very elegant Valentine’s Sweet P Gala, at which time we will award Scholarships to college hopefuls. Details of criteria for the scholarship will be posted at a later time.

Throughout the year we will continue community service for underserved communities. There will also be job fairs, financial literacy opportunities, Entrepreneurship Workshops, etc.

Darnell and Edna Pemberton believed in helping the community, but also teaching the community to help themselves.
