Uganda Jewish Adventure

Experience the most unique Shabbat of your life!...halfway around the world in a remote Jewish Orthodox village in rural Africa, singing the same prayers as back at home! So different, yet so the same!

Wednesday: Depart from DFW.. Thursday: Arrive to Uganda
Friday: Arrive to Putti, Jewish village. Begin Shabbat & Shabbat dinner under the Milky Way stars
Saturday: Shabbat in the village and spend time with local Jewish villagers (games with the kids, discussing life with local villagers). The village doesn't use a clock, so Havdalah is once we see 3 stars.
Sunday: Each participant teaches a class to the villagers
Monday: Whitewater Rafting at the source of the Nile River
Tuesday: Safari; Rhino trekking and waterfall
Wednesday: Safari; Game drive (elephant, giraffe, warthog, antelopes, buffalo, maybe lion,...), Boat trip (hippos, crocodiles) & hike to Murchison Falls
Thursday: Safari; Chimpanzee trekking
Friday: Return to Shabbat experience with our new Jewish friends
Saturday: Experience another Shabbat with the Jewish village
Sunday: Fly back to DFW

**Note: To register for this trip you must be in decent physical condition (ex. 3 hrs hiking for chimpanzee trek) and have an adventurous attitude to live in primitive conditions (ex. accommodations at village are tents & outhouse with no modern conveniences).

Cost: TBD (maybe about up to $4000 or about $2000 plus airfare. Plus each participant is required to bring a (used) laptop and other items to donate to the village) (any funds/profit generated or left-over from the trip will be donated to the Putti village).

Date and exact cost are not yet determined. Please reply if you are potentially interested in this trip. Provided sufficient interest, I will organize all the details.

Please view the attached flyer.
