Some stories remind us why Scouting matters. Lois Alvar's is one of them.

A trailblazing alumna of The University of Texas at Dallas, Lois found purpose through Scouting. Today, she continues to make a difference as the Engagement Director for Circle Ten Council, Scouting America.

We were proud to recently honor Lois at our Women in Leadership Luncheon, celebrating her leadership, her impact, and her commitment to helping others discover their own potential.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that Scouting is more than a program. It’s an opportunity to find purpose, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

We’re grateful to have Lois on our team and proud to see her story inspire others.

This National Fire Prevention Week, we’re spotlighting a crucial and highly informative merit badge: Fire Safety!

Scouts who earn this badge are learning the science behind what starts a fire, but more importantly they develop skills that keep themselves and their families safe.
