Governor Abbott has mandated tuition freezes for Texas public colleges and universities through the 26-27 school year, but that does not mean you stop applying for scholarships.

The goal is to go to college and be a student who doesn’t have to worry about next semester’s payment.

Keep filling out those apps. Your future is calling.

Governor Abbott Halts College Tuition Increases in Texas: Today, Governor Abbott sent a letter to all public universities in Texas mandating that they freeze tuition cost hikes for the 2026-2027 academic school year.

This is one more step to keep Texas affordable for all.

The Gipson Scholar Award is opening on Monday, May 4, and will offer two $5,000 scholarships for CHISD seniors. These awards are graciously sponsored by Cedar Hill High School alum and NFL player, Trevis Gipson.
