OK2BX Foundation

OK2BX Foundation OUR MOTIVATION
The OK2BX Foundation was created to honor our daughter and sister Eleanor who took her life in May 2021 at the young age of 17.

OUR MISSION
Empower diverse communities through arts, education & cultural experiences,
fostering kindness, understanding, and acceptance,
and recognizing shared humanity as the commonality that unites us. Every day as Eleanor and her siblings Carson and Spencer were headed out for the day, their father Brent would yell “It’s Okay to Be Extraordinary.”

Eleanor embodied everything OK2BX stands f

or. She made an impact on so many people. She cared what people thought and how they fit in. She had a habit of “calling people in” instead of “calling them out” when she didn’t agree with their view. She made people feel included and comfortable, and she was considered a best friend by many. Our hope is that the foundation will carry on her legacy of inclusivity.

Mental health matters—especially for our LGBTQ+ community. 🧠💚
These stats are more than numbers—they're a wake-up call.
LGBTQ+ youth are facing higher rates of depression, bullying, and discrimination—and it’s costing lives.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re raising awareness and demanding better.
Better resources. Better representation. Better support.

Let’s be louder in our love, stronger in our advocacy, and relentless in making the world a safer place for every identity. 🌈

Here’s how you can help:
✨ Share this post to spread awareness
✨ Check in on your LGBTQ+ friends
✨ Support inclusive mental health resources
✨ Speak up when you see injustice

Together, we can create a kinder, safer world.

This month’s read is one that will shift your perspective.

The Reason I Jump by Naoki Higashida gives a firsthand look into the mind of a non-speaking autistic teen, answering questions many people have but rarely ask.

It’s honest, eye-opening, and a reminder that communication looks different for everyone and that every voice matters, even when it’s not spoken out loud.

If Autism Awareness Month is about anything, it’s about understanding, empathy, and listening a little closer.

Add this one to your list.

One small act can turn into something way bigger than you think.

That’s the whole idea behind Pay It Forward. It starts with one person choosing to do something good… and not stopping there.

So here’s your challenge for today:
Do 3 acts of kindness.

Nothing crazy. Hold the door. Send a text. Compliment someone. Show up for someone who needs it.

Then let it keep going.

None of this happens without the people behind the scenes.

The OK2BX Film Festival exists because of our incredible sponsors who believed in this mission and showed up to support it. Because of you, these students had a platform, a screen, and a moment to share their stories.

You didn’t just support an event. You supported young creators, meaningful storytelling, and a future built on kindness and inclusion.

We’re so grateful to have you in our corner.

Thank you for making this possible.
