We are so thankful the class of 2030 for hosting a lemonade stand to help us spread awareness during Childhood Cancer Awareness month this September! While the focus is awareness and the lemonade and smiles are free any funds collect during this time goes towards our I Am Campaign that directly supports North Texas family during their Cancer journey and we can share that already this money is supporting a family facing this fight. Thanks for taking a stand with us!

Children undergoing cancer treatment may endure dozens or even hundreds of needle sticks over the course of therapy. Thanks to the generosity of our community and a hug shout out over 100 stuffed animals are now ready to bring comfort and hope children at Medical City Children’s Hospital oncology unit. These stuffed animals aren’t just toys, they help children cope, feel brave, and find a little joy in difficult moments. Research shows comfort items like stuffed animals reduce stress and pain perception during procedures. Sam loved his stuffed animals during treatment and was often found with them by his side. 🐻🦖

To date, SAPF has supported North Texas families with medical needs caused from treatment in the following ways: prosthetic devices, in-home medical equipment, funeral expenses, fertility preservation. Every day, 1 in 47 kids is diagnosed with cancer, and many have siblings who face a higher risk of PTSD than the patients themselves. While Sam’s siblings aren’t immune, I want to share the incredible good I’ve seen in them. As we prepared for an awareness event this week, Ben begged to stay up late and help. In the middle of the chaos, he hugged me and said how much he loved helping—and how it filled his heart with joy. Emmie, too, has embraced leadership, taking pride in sharing our family’s story. Watching them grow through this experience, and seeing the support of our community, reminds me of the amazing things we’re doing together. 💛
