The inaugural SMU Black Unity Summit — April 17–18, 2026 — brought Black alumni, students, faculty, and friends together for two days of community, celebration, and courageous conversation on the Hilltop.

Highlights included the History Maker Award presentations, a University Strategic Framework update from President Hartzell, the "Courage on Campus: Building Legacy from History" session, financial legacy programming, and meaningful moments connecting generations of Mustangs across the weekend.

This was just the beginning. Congratulations to our History Maker Award honorees and thank you to everyone who showed up and made this first Summit one to remember.

Founders' Day Weekend 2026 is officially a wrap.

This weekend brought alumni, students, faculty, and friends back to campus for five days of connection, great programming, and Mustang pride. From the SMU Cox panel stage to the ballroom — the energy in every room was real.

Thank you to everyone who was part of it. We'll see you next year.

Senior donors and young alumni who gave back this fiscal year came together on campus to celebrate the start of a big weekend and the shared belief that SMU is worth investing in.

Friday, April 10 is the standout day for alumni programming this year:

Golden Mustangs Luncheon (registration required)
Shared Stories, One Spirit: An SMU Alumni Panel — open to all
SMU Speed Networking in Gallery 1911 — open to all
Founders' Day Weekend Happy Hour — registration required

Saturday, April 11 rounds out the weekend with the Alumni Entrepreneur Summit at Cox School of Business in the morning and the free Founders' Day Weekend Signature Concert at Moody Coliseum in the evening.
Registration is open now for several events and spots are limited.
