This community has faced so many challenges, and it is an honor to stand alongside them and be a small part of the hope. Every meal given, every prayer shared, every smile exchanged matters. 🙏

When people look at us, they don't see somebody who might have great potential if given help. They don't imagine someone who made positive contributions to society in the past before trouble change their lives. All they see, all they wish to see, is somebody they can ignore without guilt. Assuming we are all to blame for our homelessness, it's easy to blame the victim and keep walking.

THE PUBLIC RARELY REALIZES THAT SO MANY OF US HAD LIVES BEFORE THIS !!

CAN A CHRISTIAN SMOKE 🚬💨?

INTRODUCTION:

Many believers ask this question today. While the Bible does not mention smoking by name, it gives us clear principles about how we should treat our bodies, live as God’s children, and honor Him in all things. Scripture guides us to make choices that bring glory to God, protect the life He gave us, and reflect our faith to others.

I. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

- Illustration: If you were given a beautiful, precious house by someone you love, you would never fill it with smoke or poison that damages its walls and structure.
- Since our bodies are the holy temple of the Holy Spirit and belong entirely to God, we must never smoke or harm them with destructive substances like to***co.

II. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31

- Illustration: A worker who represents their company always acts in a way that makes their employer look good, never in a way that brings shame or damage.
- Smoking brings no glory to God, harms the body He created, and contradicts our calling to do everything in a way that honors Him.

III. “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. — 1 Corinthians 6:12

- Illustration: If a chain wraps around your hand and pulls you where you do not want to go, it has become your master, and you are no longer free.
- As followers of Jesus, we are called to walk in holiness and self-control, so we must never smoke or let anything become an addiction that masters us.

IV. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

- Illustration: A lighthouse is meant to shine clearly and guide others safely; if its light is covered by smoke, it can no longer fulfill its purpose.
- Choose to respect the life God entrusted to you and set a faithful example before others—never smoke as a Christian.

CONCLUSION:
While the Bible does not use the word “smoking,” its principles are clear: our bodies belong to God, every choice must bring Him glory, we must not let anything control us, and our lives must reflect Jesus to those around us. Smoking harms the temple of the Holy Spirit, brings no honor to God, opens the door to bo***ge, and weakens our witness. As Christians, we are called to honor God in every part of our lives—so we choose never to smoke, but instead to care for our bodies faithfully, live freely in Christ, and bring glory to Him in all we do.🚭🚭🚭

Most Christians are not walking in line with biblical salvation. There is nothing that suggests that someone who rejects God's laws will be saved. Yet this is systematically taught as grace. Remember grace "NEVER" lowers God's standards; we live in an age that celebrates the promises of scripture while resisting its commands.

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Church was never meant to be something Christians simply consume.

Show up Sunday.
Sit in a chair.
Listen to a sermon.
Sing a few songs.
Go home.
Come back next week.

That’s not the full picture of discipleship.

If you’re a follower of Jesus, you’re not just called to attend His Church. You’re called to BE His Church.

You’re called to serve.
To love people.
To make disciples.
To use your gifts.
To carry responsibility.
To be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever God has placed you.

And somewhere along the way, I think we created an unhealthy expectation that the pastor and church staff are supposed to do all the ministry.

They visit everyone.
They disciple everyone.
They evangelize.
They counsel.
They pray.
They serve.
They lead.
They fix every problem.

But look at what Scripture actually says about church leadership:

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”
Ephesians 4:12

Notice that.

The pastor doesn’t do all the ministry.

The pastor equips the saints for the work of ministry.

Christian, that means YOU have a part to play.

You might never preach from a stage.
You might never work at a church.
You might never have “Pastor” in front of your name.

But you can minister to your family.

You can disciple someone.

You can serve your neighbor.

You can pray with your coworker.

You can share Jesus.

You can use the gifts God has given you to build His Church.

It’s time to move beyond simply sitting in a chair on Sunday and ask:

“God, what have You equipped and called me to do?”

And pastors, this goes both ways.

You were never called to do everything.

Equip people.
Train them.
Lead them.
Empower them.
Give them opportunities.
Help them discover their gifts.
Then trust them enough to actually use those gifts.

A healthy church isn’t a handful of exhausted staff members doing ministry for hundreds of people.

It’s hundreds of equipped disciples doing ministry together.

We all have a part to play.

Pastors, equip the saints.
Christians, do the ministry.
Church, let’s get to work.
