Democracy is Indigenous DFW

Directions

Democracy is Indigenous DFW We believe democracy is more than a system—it’s a living practice rooted in Indigenous values of accountability, justice, and community.

Democracy is Indigenous DFW is a nonpartisan coalition of North Texas organizations and community members dedicated to engaging the American Indian and Indigenous community year-round in the democratic process. Native Americans have historically been marginalized and often felt invisible in civic spaces. For many, voting and civic engagement can carry emotional and spiritual weight because of generations of broken promises and systemic barriers. That is why our work focuses on creating safe, culturally grounded spaces for education, empowerment, and healing—so our voices can shape policies that reflect our values and protect our future generations. Civic engagement isn’t just about voting—it’s about staying informed, connected, and involved all year long. Together, we’re building a future rooted in justice, culture, and community. Join us in shaping what comes next. https://texasnativehealth.formstack.com/forms/dii_volunteer_interests
