The City of Dallas FreshStart Employment Program is seeking qualified candidates to fill internal Laborer positions in Parks and Recreation

🚨 The primary requirement for the FreshStart Employment Program is: you must have been formally incarcerated or have arrests or offenses on your background that are a barrier to stable and/or full-time employment. The City of Dallas FreshStart Employment Program is seeking qualified candidates to fill internal Laborer positions in Parks and Recreation

Compensation Range:
 Laborer B: $14.50-$15.00/hr.
 Laborer II/IIC: $15.50-$17.00/hr.
Traditionally a driver's license may be required.

The primary requirement for the FreshStart Employment Program is: you must have been formally incarcerated or have arrests or offenses on your background that are a barrier to stable and/or full-time employment.

Eligibility Criteria
FreshStart clients are considered eligible, by meeting all criteria below:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Considered by pre-assessment and referral
• Released from incarceration a minimum of one (1) year ago (if applicable)
• Have other arrests on criminal background report (without incarceration)
• A minimum of 6 months stable housing
• Have attended training or job readiness workshop
• Apply via the City of Dallas Employment site for “FreshStart” tagged positions
o with sufficient relevant work experience
o with entry-level relative work experience
o without work experience
 must be coachable and willing to learn

Criminal Background Consideration
• All misdemeanors are welcomed
• Non-violent felonies will be considered on a case by case basis
• All aggravated cases of any type and other violent felonies will not be considered
• Pending cases will not be considered until the case is dissolved

Driving License Requirement(s)
• Must have a valid driver license for all laborer positions
o CDL may be required for some laborer II positions
• Must have a class A or B CDL for Sanitation driving positions
o Including a minimum of two (2) years of DOT driving experience
