Today we’d like to introduce you to Billy Lane. Hi Billy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today? History is being made. On May 30, 2026, New York State held its first official Reparations Hearing through the Community Commission on Reparations Remedies.

During the hearing, powerful voices stepped forward with bold demands: Aubrey Muhammad demanded $800,000 for every foundational Black American, stating it’s simply the cost of living to buy a home, start a business, or recover from generational financial trauma.

Other speakers called for a new β€œFreedmen’s Bureau” β€” basically a central institution to distribute resources directly to Black communities.

Speakers emphasized lineage-based reparations for descendants of American slavery, not open to everyone.

This is no longer just talk. States are now holding official hearings. Real proposals are on the table. The conversation about repairing the damage of slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, and systemic racism is moving forward.

For generations, Black people have been told to β€œjust get over it.” Today, we are saying: No. Pay what you owe.

This hearing is just the beginning. The fight for true reparations β€” not symbolic gestures, but real economic justice β€” is gaining serious momentum.

What do you think? Is $800,000 per person a fair starting point? Should every state be forced to hold these hearings? Let your voice be heard in the comments πŸ‡¨πŸ‡©

πŸ† HISTORY MADE AT LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL πŸ†

The Lincoln Lady Tigers are officially STATE CHAMPIONS β€” and record breakers.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Naomi Jones, Aariyah Stanley-Bullock, Sanai Lewis, and Siani Simpson posted a historic time of 45.86 seconds, breaking a Dallas Carter relay record that had stood since 2017 and was part of the era of future world champion Sha’Carri Richardson.

DW sat down with the athletes and Athletic Coordinator Reginald Bell to discuss the hard work, dedication, and discipline that fueled this unforgettable season.

Their story is bigger than medals and records. It’s a story of perseverance, teamwork, and the next generation of South Dallas excellence.
