On Thursday, our campers explored Jesus' teaching about the Sparrows and the Lilies (Matthew 6:25–34). Through this beautiful lesson, they discovered that just as God cares for the birds of the air and clothes the flowers of the field with beauty, we can trust Him to care for our needs. Children reflected on the difference between worry and peace, learning that gratitude, faith, and hope help us face each day with confidence.
Throughout the day, campers created pressed flower sun catcher crafts that encouraged them to appreciate the beauty of God's creation and the many blessings found in everyday life.
Our final day centered on the Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15; Matthew 18), reminding children that every person is precious, valued, and deeply loved. Through storytelling and discussion, campers learned that just as a shepherd searches for one lost sheep, we are called to notice, care for, and include those around us. It was a fitting conclusion to a week focused on growing in grace, knowledge, kindness, wisdom, compassion, and trust.
The afternoon was filled with celebration as parents and families joined us for our Closing Ceremony. The children proudly performed the camp theme song and showcased their creative crafts made throughout the week.
Each child was recognized individually and celebrated for the unique qualities and character they demonstrated during camp. They received a certificate of participation along with a storybook featuring one of Jesus' parables to continue learning at home with their families.
The celebration concluded with a shared comida with families, and a special visit from Señor Farmer David, delivery vegetables and treats.
From planting seeds in their garden planters to planting seeds of kindness, wisdom, compassion, and hope, Campamento de Verano 2026 was a beautiful reminder that growth happens one day, one lesson, and one small act of love at a time.
Thank you to our incredible volunteers, Brilla Life, Ben and Susie Argil, Antioch Church San Miguel de Allende, Mike & Connie Wolf-Gravino, and our generous supporters who made this unforgettable week possible. Together, we are helping children grow in knowledge, character, and hope.
