Young Leaders for Life

Young Leaders for Life We are young leaders cultivating an ethic of life through service, stories & education. We are a part of Council for Life. We educate, but we do not legislate.

As Young Leaders for Life, our vision is to foster a generation that affirms and respects the value of life. We welcome women and men of all backgrounds, political leanings, and faiths (or no faith at all) who share this vision or want to learn more. Council for Life exists to empower women, men, and youth to make life-affirming choices. The core values of Council for life are as follows:

We bel

ieve in the sanctity of Life and that Life begins at conception. We exist to equip and educate our community about issues concerning Life. The Word of God is our foundation of truth. We seek to ensure that all our endeavors glorify God. We are committed to under girding everything we say and do with love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness acting in compassion. We believe God redeems us and restores us.

Data released last week by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention evidences the fertility rate — the number of births per 1,000 women of childbearing age — dropped to a record low of 3.6 million. As reported by The New York Times, for the first time in our country’s history, nearly 50% of 30-year-old women are childless, compared to only 18% 50 years ago.

Meanwhile, in glaring contrast, the number of babies killed in abortions has tragically hit record highs.

The pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute as well as Planned Parenthood recently released their 2025 abortion data. The Guttmacher Institute is a research and policy organization “committed to advancing s*xual and reproductive health and rights worldwide.”

Remembering Chuck Norris

Council for Life is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Chuck Norris, a beloved actor, philanthropist and friend of Council for Life.

For many years, Chuck and his wife Gena have faithfully supported Council for Life. Gena and Chuck were our Honorary Luncheon Chairs and Life Lessons Box Lunch Speakers in 2010. Gena graciously serves on CFL’s Advisory Board.

Chuck was a passionate, bold voice for the unborn. He once said, “Whether in the U.S. Capital or in cities across every state of our union, we shouldn’t justify violence to humans outside the womb or inside the womb. Instead, we should esteem all human life from conception to the grave.”

We are grateful for Chuck’s life and unwavering commitment to protecting preborn babies. Our prayers are with Gena, their children and the entire Norris family.

Today is World Down Syndrome Day, a day to celebrate the beautiful uniqueness of individuals with an extra special chromosome. 💙💛

March 21 was chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which is the cause of Down syndrome.

Tragically, many unborn babies diagnosed with Down syndrome never get the chance to show the world their worth.

According to the National Institutes of Health, roughly 70% of preborn babies with a positive prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome are aborted in the U.S. annually.

In Iceland, nearly 100% of pregnancies where Down syndrome is diagnosed are terminated in abortion, in Denmark, 98% are aborted and in Scotland, 90% of pregnancies with the Down syndrome marker are aborted.

Our hope and prayer is that every life will be seen as valuable, capable, and deeply loved.

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:10 ✝️

The University of Notre Dame recently appointed Susan Ostermann, a professor who is an outspoken abortion advocate, to lead the Catholic school’s Institute for Asia and Asian Studies.

The controversial appointment has created widespread opposition from U.S. Catholic Bishops, Notre Dame faculty, students and alumni, and Council for Life Beneficiary Students for Life of America. The professor describes pro-life efforts as “violence against women” which is tragically a common pro-abortion mantra.

Tens of thousands braved the bitter cold on Friday in Washington, D.C. for the 53rd National March for Life. The March for Life is a peaceful, joyful rally of women, men, young people and children from across the country and the globe who believe the fundamental moral truth that unborn babies should be protected from abortion.

The March for Life remembers the tragic Roe v. Wade decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 legalizing abortion in all 50 states and the more than 66 million babies who have lost their lives to abortion since.

Today we remember the six million Jewish women, men and children who were victims of the Holocaust and N**i persecution.

We pray for comfort for their families and friends. We pray for an end to the alarming trend of antisemitism in the United States and around the world.

Today we must also remember the lives of 73 million innocent babies who were victims of the worldwide Abortion Holocaust in 2025, including 1 million American babies.

Human life, whether born or in the womb, is sacred, valuable and must be protected by law and conscience.

Please join us in praying for an end to abortion and for all people to cherish and respect human life.

🌟Jumping on the 2016 trend! 🌟

Looking back on Council for Life ten years ago:

🧡 Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton was the speaker at the Celebrating Life Luncheon
🧡 CFL raised over $522,000 for 16 Beneficiaries
🧡 We welcomed Kelly Wright former Fox News Anchor to the Men’s Breakfast
🧡 Run for Life was a huge success
🧡 Only two people were on staff at the time – Suzanne Everbach and Natalie Siegel who still play integral roles today

This year Council for Life is joyfully celebrating 25 years! Since 2001 we have raised over $20,000,000 for 90 life-affirming agencies.

Thank you to our wonderful, faithful and generous supporters who continue to stand with us to empower women, men and youth to make life-affirming choices.
