๐ WHY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH MATTERS ๐
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Monthโa time to bring attention to an issue that affects women, children, families, and communities every day.
Domestic violence is more than physical abuse. It can include emotional, verbal, financial, sexual, and psychological abuse. Many survivors suffer in silence because of fear, shame, financial dependence, or the belief that no one will understand.
Awareness matters because silence can protect the abuser, but education can help protect the survivor.
This month, we are reminded that survivors deserve safety, dignity, support, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. We must continue to educate our communities, support those experiencing abuse, and create pathways to safe housing and healing.
At Our Hannahโs House, we believe every woman and child deserves a safe place to call home. We are committed to serving women and children experiencing homelessness and those escaping domestic violenceโproviding support, resources, and hope.
๐ We believe God calls us to stand with the vulnerable and help the โleast of these.โ
๐ Break the silence. Believe survivors. Support safety. Choose love over fear.
