💙 Freedom Friday: Celebrating Tanesha

Today we want to highlight one of our incredible residents, Tanesha, whose journey has been nothing short of inspiring. From the moment she stepped into the program, she has carried herself with a spirit of strength, hope, and quiet leadership that has touched every woman around her.

Tanesha shows us what recovery looks like when faith and determination come together. She is consistently positive, uplifting, and encouraging — even on the hard days. Her compassion for the other ladies is genuine and steady, and she has become a safe place for so many who are learning how to rebuild their lives.

She leads not by title, but by example.
By the way she speaks life into others.
By the way she shows up with courage.
By the way she chooses healing over her past, every single day.

In a house full of women fighting for freedom, Tanesha reminds us that recovery is not just about breaking chains — it’s about discovering who God says you are and walking boldly in that identity. She is deeply loved by everyone here, and we are so proud of the woman she is becoming.

Tanesha, thank you for shining your light so brightly.
Your journey encourages all of us to keep going, keep believing, and keep choosing freedom.

💜✨ THROWBACK THURSDAY: WHERE FAITH, GROWTH & NEW BEGINNINGS MEET! ✨💜

Today, we are shining the spotlight on a very special member of the FreeMan House family, LaWanda Lewis! 🏡💜

LaWanda spent two years at FreeMan House, choosing a Christ-centered environment where she could change her way of living and thinking while developing a deeper, personal relationship with her Heavenly Father. 🙏🏽

When reflecting on her journey, LaWanda shared how her experience at FreeMan House changed her life and helped her discover a new way to live a clean and sober life.

Sometimes, it's the simplest lessons that leave the biggest impact! One daily routine LaWanda learned at FreeMan House was to have her “feet on the floor at 7 and make your bed.” 🛏️✨ To this day, she continues that practice every morning, reminding us that lasting change is often built through the small, consistent choices we make each day.

Today, LaWanda celebrates the ability to think clearly, live with purpose, and make sound decisions. These are accomplishments worth celebrating! 💜🙌

And there's even more to look forward to! One of the things LaWanda is most excited about in this season of her life is having her grandson come to live with her! ❤️👵🏽 What a beautiful reminder that recovery can open doors to new beginnings, meaningful relationships, and moments we once only hoped for.

When asked what advice she would give someone just beginning their journey, LaWanda offered these powerful words:

🙏🏽 “Don't leave until the miracle happens.”

And completing the sentence, “Because of my journey, I now know that…” LaWanda shared:

✨ “God can and will change your life if you surrender your life to Him.” ✨

LaWanda, we are so proud of you! Your story is a beautiful reminder of the power of faith, the importance of daily commitment, and the possibilities that can unfold when we keep moving forward. Your journey is still unfolding, and we are grateful that FreeMan House was part of your story. 💜

Help us celebrate LaWanda Lewis and all she has accomplished! Drop some love, encouragement, and congratulations in the comments! 🎉👏💜

Transformation Tuesday Spotlight: Deborah 🌟

At FreeMan House, transformation isn’t just about changing habits—it’s about finding full restoration, reclaiming identity, and surrendering to God’s purpose. Today, we are celebrating Deborah , House Leader at our Richwood home!

Deborah entered our program in December 2025 and stepped into her leadership role in March 2026. Walking in almost 19 months of sobriety (since March 14, 2025), her life is living proof of what true transformation looks like:

From Buried Secrets to Full Surrender: For years, Deborah carried heavy childhood secrets and trauma, which led her into addiction and isolation. Her turning point came on a quiet night in a backyard shed, where she cried out to God in complete surrender. That moment led her to FreeMan House, where she began walking out her true purpose.

Stepping Into Leadership: Deborah didn't seek out a title—she simply answered the call. "They chose me. I didn't choose it. I came in as a resident, and God opened a door I wasn't looking for."

A Legacy Restored: Today, Deborah uses her story to help other women move from just surviving to believing they are worth restoring. She loves walking alongside women who have faced similar trauma, showing them that pain doesn't have to be the end of the story.

Healing Her Family: Her greatest joy outside of FreeMan House is taking every opportunity to rebuild and restore relationships with her children and grandchildren.

Deborah’s Message to You:
"You are not your worst day, and you're not too far gone to be restored. Real change doesn't come from getting another chance—it comes from full surrender. Whatever legacy of pain brought you here, it doesn't have to be the legacy you leave behind."

Guiding Scripture: Ephesians 3:20 — "Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think."

Thank you, Deborah, for allowing God to transform your life and for leading the women in our community with grace, accountability, and constant encouragement! 💙🙌

🌅 Scripture Monday: “Be strong and courageous.” — Joshua 1:9

Recovery isn’t just about staying sober — it’s about learning to live again. It’s about letting God rebuild the parts of you that life tried to break. When God says, “Be strong and courageous,” He isn’t asking you to pretend you’re fearless. He’s reminding you that He is with you in every step of your healing.

Your past may explain where you’ve been, but it does not define who you are.
Addiction doesn’t get the final word. Shame doesn’t get the final word.
Only God’s promise gets the final word — and His promise is restoration.

In recovery, courage looks like:

Choosing honesty when hiding feels easier
Showing up to group even when your heart feels heavy
Letting God speak a new identity over you
Believing that freedom is possible, even when you don’t feel it yet

Strength isn’t the absence of struggle — it’s the decision to keep going.
Courage isn’t loud — sometimes it’s just whispering, “Lord, help me try again today.”

Every person walking through recovery is living out Joshua 1:9 in real time.
You are learning to stand.
You are learning to trust.
You are learning to walk in the identity God gave you — not the one the world tried to put on you.

Today, remember:
You are not defined by your past. You are defined by God’s promise.
And His promise is freedom, healing, and a future full of hope.

🌟Recovery Tip Saturday 🌟

Create a simple daily routine. Structure builds stability, and stability builds freedom.

One of the most powerful tools in recovery isn’t complicated — it’s consistency. A simple daily routine helps quiet the chaos, reduce decision fatigue, and create space for clarity and growth. When you begin building small habits — waking up at the same time, making your bed, attending groups, journaling, or taking a moment for prayer — those little steps start forming a foundation that supports long‑term freedom.

Over the years, we’ve seen how structure becomes a lifeline. It helps rebuild confidence, teaches responsibility, and reminds each man and woman that they can create a life that feels steady and safe. Routines don’t just organize the day — they strengthen identity, restore peace, and open the door to new possibilities.

Freedom doesn’t happen all at once. It’s built slowly, intentionally, and beautifully through the everyday choices that shape a new way of living.
