Last night, our member Stephen Silva-Brave was the special guest on The NdGNS Show on KNON Now. They talked about our kinship gatherings, holding predators accountable in our community spaces, and so much more. If you missed it, follow the NdGNS page and be on the lookout for the playback links.
But that's not even the coolest part.
Host Cecil Higginbotham hand-painted this incredible piece and is gifting it to MMIWTX Rematriate to raffle or auction, with all proceeds going directly to our organization and our work.
We are extremely grateful to Cecil for this and for always supporting our organization and being such a good relative in our community.
The red handprints on the piece were added after the show by Cecil, Stephen, and co-hosts Cheyenne Skye Corpus Goss and Eli Hickman. The red hand prints may seem out of place
Stephen says he looks at this painting as very symbolic. We are multidimensional. Many of us are into Bigfoot and other cultural figures, we have our fashion (the bandana) We are modern (the radio show) We have something to say (the microphone)We are creative (the beads and the painting itself). No matter what thought wherever we or whatever we do, we carry the weight of our missing relatives with us. In Stephens mind this one painting holds all of that.
Again, thank so much Cecil and the NdGNS crew we are extremely grateful.
