🌟 From West Georgia to the national stage! WGACAC is proud to share that our team has been selected to present at the 2026 APSAC Colloquium.
We are proud to share that WGACAC will be presenting at the 2026 Association of Professionals Solving the Abuse of Children - APSAC Colloquium in New Orleans one of the nation's premier conferences dedicated to advancing the prevention, assessment, treatment, and multidisciplinary response to child maltreatment.
Our session, "Combatting Wait Times in Rural CACs: Implementing the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI)," will be presented by Allen Babcock(Executive Director), Savanna Knowles(Mental Health Coordinator), and Helen Juarez(LCSW & Clinical Supervisor CFTSI program).
Together, they will share how West Georgia Child Advocacy Center has implemented an innovative, trauma-informed approach to reduce barriers to care and provide early intervention for children and families following disclosures of abuse. In rural communities, where access to specialized mental health services can be limited, CFTSI has helped bridge the gap between disclosure and treatment—connecting families with support when it matters most.
We are honored to contribute to the national conversation and showcase the collaborative work taking place in West Georgia to improve outcomes for children and families.
